The Pretest Intro is a short, one-page introduction detailing how to take the online pretest. After reviewing the pretest instructions, the learner will click the Next tab at the bottom of the page. When learners reach the end of the introduction, they choose Exit to return to the CRC+ homepage.
When the CRC+ homepage refreshes, the next segments of the module will be available. Choose Pretest to begin the pretest. Each module has a different number of pretest questions, and scores are based on percentage correct.
To answer questions, select a radio button beside the appropriate answer and click Submit. Learners will be automatically advanced to the next question. If they choose to exit the pretest before completing all questions, they will be given an error message like the one below. The score will be 0% but the course option will open.
The status bar below the Submit button will tell the learner how many questions are contained in the pretest, and which one they are currently viewing.
At the end of the pretest, the learner receives notification of the score received. If a learner scored an 80% or higher on the pretest then both the course and posttest become available. If they score less than 80%, then only the course will become available. Once the course has been completed, the posttest will become available. Select Exit to proceed.
Note: The pretest is intended to be a one-time test of current skills and retakes are not available unless it is determined that the learner’s testing situation warrants another opportunity. In those cases, a facilitator or administrator may reset the pretest if the learner has not yet entered the course. The reset tab will show as activated on the individual learner’s CRC+ report page if that learner is eligible to re-test. Click on the reset tab and the pretest will be available for the learner to re-enter.
After exiting the Placement Test, the learner is returned to the CRC+ Homepage.
